Should I go to the hospital for a second degree burn?

How can you go swimming with a second degree burn?

  • i burnt my arm and i want to go swimming but it hurts to get it wet what do i do?????????

  • Answer:

You should really not go to swim with either second or third degree burns with the fact that they could easily become infected. You need to keep it dry and clean in order for it to heal readily.

I advise against it. The chlorine will irritate your already damaged skin. If you absolutely must go swimming in chlorinated water, wrap plastic around your arm and secure it with medical tape. I work as an EMT at an amusement park and water park. In the water park, when we get patients with cuts or burns on their hands, we have them put on a glove and we will secure it with tape. It works for them.
