What does it mean to be a marketing specialist?

How would a Marketing Specialist transition to a UX career?

  • I have my annual review coming up and I'm going push for a new position title. I'm currently a Marketing Specialist who handles the web communications and website for the company. I'd like to transition into more UX related career in the future. (I'm already highly proficient in the Adobe suite and research aspects of UX). Does anyone have suggestions for titles which will bridge this gap from marketing to User Experience? I was thinking Communication Manager or something along those lines.

I believe a great way to bridge the transition is by talking to a UX mentor. Someone who can tell you their story about a career in UX and you can in turn ask any questions you have about the UX industry. http://SixP.me is a online mentoring platform set up to help people like yourself! Take a look as their are plenty of UX experts on their waiting to help! Disclaimer : I am a mentor on the http://SixP.me platform :)
