What should I do to maximize my time studying abroad in Paris, France?

• I'm 21 years old studying Fashion Design. I am going to study abroad in France next summer. The program is 1 month long and lasts from the beginning of July to the beginning of August. I want to leave in May and spend as much time there as possible. My 19 year old brother, as of now, is planning on coming. What can we do to maximize our time and get as many benefits as possible? This includes steps I can start taking now, recommendations on what to do, housing (the school has options, but since my brother is coming, something where we can stay together is ideal), and how to save money but still be comfortable and safe. My brother is studying theater. I don't think he's planning on studying while he's there, but ideas on how to work together so we can both get as many benefits as possible would be great to hear! Both of us are used to international travel (I've been to England, we lived in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico and in the Yucatán Peninsula for the majority of our lives), so preparing for homesickness, culture shock, etc, shouldn't be that big of a problem (but if you think it will, suggestions are welcome as well!).
