  Try the Mad Rock Drifter. It's a very good beginner shoe and can be purchased from many places for $60-65. Ideally, you can find a brick-and-mortar retailer that carries this shoe so that you can try it on before you buy it. The Evolv Defy is a shoe that many beginning climbers purchase. It's not a bad shoe but is a bit more expensive than the Drifter. I found that the Defys fit me oddly so, as with all climbing shoes, it's important to try them before you purchase (or at least buy from someplace that allows returns).
