  Most of the charity climbing deals I have seen work somewhat reverse of that. Typically, you have to gather enough donations (most that I have seen are at least a couple thousand dollars worth) and then you can qualify to go on the climb of this mountain or that one. I mean, you could always just do it on your own and go around gathering donations from people before your climb, then climb and donate it all. But traveling to Africa and climbing Kilimanjaro is gonna cost you several thousand dollars, so it might be hard to convince people to donate their money when you are going to spend so much money to do the climb, that could have been donated to the charity.
