    Hey Matt, im in the same boat as you, albeit much older (and heavier). Go to thumpertalk.com; download the app if you can. There are a ton of very active forums regarding dirt bikes including a "what bike should i buy" forum which is chock full of questions exactly like yours as well as a wealth of experienced riders to answer them. They also have other threads that are make/model specific with all sorts of technical/mechanical issues addressed. Ive been browsing on the app for weeks and its really helping me narrow down my choices re: engine size, 2-str vs 4-str, new vs used, make/model, etc. good luck w/ your search!
