    Hey there, I'm afraid you're right on the money when you say it's a clone - the original R4 has "Loading..." as its error screen and not "Menu?" like you're getting. You'll probably need to buy a genuine one to get it to work with the original firmware. I personally get mine from DSCardWorld cause I'm in America at the moment, but I heard NDS-Gear has a slightly better deal if you're from Canada or Europe as their international rates are a bit cheaper. Crucially though they only sell genuine cards so you shouldn't need to worry! Finally, JUST IN CASE you have the fake "R4v3" card (which is apparently quite popular) I've also got a link for you talking about that card on NintendoDSCards.com which also shows you where to download the fake firmware. As a last resort that might get your card working although if I were you I'd buy an official one. Good luck!
