    It depends whether you like the game to be real-time or not. If not, all credit goes to the other answerer, but if you want real time strategy, here are some excellent ones: Starcraft (its actually a North Korea's national sport, lol) Starcraft 2 (porobably the strongest online community) Age of Empires 1,2, and 3 (I personally love ages 2, theres no online unless you use lan, but to me its a classic) Lord of the rings, battle for middle earth 2 (really not much strategy involved, but I loved being able to control the armies of middle-earth!)
