I have the old PS2. I wanna play online. What do I need, and how do I set it up?

No need for a USB cable. If you have the older "fat" PS2, you need to buy the PS2 Ethernet Adapter (very hard to find these days) - this ethernet adapter plugs into the back of the PS2 - you then connect the PS2/Ethernet Adapter to an ethernet cable, which goes into your modem or router.
