Is there a major qaulity difference when watching BlueRay movie on a BlueRay Player or watching it on a Ps3 ?

I think it's the same because the PS3 uses the blue ray reader and could watch movies. I would buy the PS3 because you might wana play some games when you have it

I believe there the same & I do remember I read a Home Theater magazine that Sony Co. says that the PS3 it is a good Blu-ray player & it could support up to 7.1 channel & True HD sound. I have PS3/40GB & 38'' Philips HDTV/LCD with 768P. If you are dropping DVD & going Blu, I do have to warn you about Blu-ray movies. There super expensive & it will be perfect to have HDTV that has 1080P resolution. Because if you watch Blu-ray movies on your PS3 & have HDTV that has 720P or 1080i, YOU WILL GET HD PICTURE BUT, NOT BLU-RAY PICTURE. IF YOU HAVE HDTV THAT HAS 1080P, YOU WILL GET TRUE BLU-RAY PICTURE. But, it is up to you if resolution or not. Good luck! PS If you plan to buy PS3 & you want better picture & sound, try HDMI to HDMI cables & there better then the HD AV Components cables.
