Signal problems with HDMI cable, PS3 and HDTV?

Do u have to plug in the HDMI cable and the AV cable or just the HDMI cable for an HDTV (PS3)?

    You only need the HDMI cable! Forget hooking up the AV cables...just a FYI..if you go from component to HDMI, your PS3 maynot auto adjust to the new cable. If this happens, simply turn off the PS3, then turn it back on. Then press the "on" button on the front and hold it for about 3 secs. This will do a hard default and detect the HDMI cable.
