Click the sign in button at the dashboard then click recover gamertag if your dad tells you his email and password for windows live ID. then it should take 3 or 4 min to load up then you have live as long as your internet connection is working.As someone else already suggested you can save it to a memory card, if you decide on doing this try to find a cheap memory card with barely any memory specially designed for transporting gamertags. u can get a month free buy going on something like sign up to live and choose the free silver one then it says something like are u sure u want just silver say yes then it says you can get month free gold live and click that and u need to enter some data.

If he has applied that new subscription to his account, then only online play will work for when you are signed into his account. If you have your own account (on Silver), you will need to have a new subscription for yourself (on Gold for online play). You can then take this account on any console to play online.

no because they keep track inside of the xbox it saves or something but maybe if you hook them into the same place and put the stuff he has in for him x-box live
