What would be the consequences of a society dependent on Biodiesel?

Well, we used to be a society dependent on wood, that's a bio-fuel. It just took more work.

All the alternative fuels added together will not produce 1 million barrels a day. Most cost more energy that U will be able to produce from it.

Well the problem with biofuels is that if they are made from new materials (even renewable materials) then they consume energy, water, land and other resources. Plus, they still emit greenhouse gasses when burned (just less than conventional fossil fuels). We would view the lifestyle that would result as desperate poverty. There is no way any biofuel could every be as cheap and assessable as fossil fuels. Everything would cost more and normal people would not travel outside their home towns. If you had food all year round you would be concidered lucky.

Mass food shortages, more of the earth is destroyed to build more farms and probably using GMOs so more fuel can be made. Really I see it like this it is replacing one harmful addiction with another but that other addiction seems better because that is the way it is portrayed but it is really only better on a very small scale and only better in it's use and not actually better for anything. Cars are destructive and always have been and it is up to us to stop using them and not just replace them with other cars that are a tiny bit better!
