How can I change my display name in Windows Live Messenger 2011?

    In the new Window Live Messenger they have replaced the display name with the real name (which I don't think was a good idea). So to change your display name you need to change your real name. click the small arrow beside your name, and then choose "Edit your name" from the drop menu. you will then be redirected to your Windows Live profile where you can change your real name. I found out exactly how to do that! You go to www.hotmail.com then sign in. On the top right it will say your name. Then you click on it then click on account. After it says all your information. Then beside where it says you name it will say change. Click it and change to what you desire then sign out of WLM. then sign back in and your name will be changed.

I think you can click it and it highlights, like any text field, and then you're allowed to type a new name. Press the Enter key to confirm. Not sure on this one though... - Jake Windows Outreach Team
