Why won't AIM let me get a screen name?

Its won't let me get a new screen name & aim 6.0?

    Well, I have had one of those problems... actually. Here is some of my advice: 1. If it won't let you, probably the AIM screen name that you want has already been taken. 2. When I tried to get AIM, it did not work for about 3 days, but then it worked great! (not that I use it anymore) Hope this helps!
