Is it possible to get out of selling an ebay item?

Is there a way of going on ebay not to sell but to ask if anyone selling a item u want but cant get?

    You can try posting a 'want it now' ad, info here http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/specialtysites/questions/win_overview.html But I've never had any sensible replies to ads I've put there, just a load of spam.

You could do a search like "dress size 8 new look red" or whatever - but there's no way of asking a question generally.

What you can do is set up a search using keywords such as New Look size 8 ,etc. Ebay will email you everytime an item is listed with those key words. You may get sent emails for a lot of stuff that isn't relevant, but it may help.
