Adopting a child is not so hard. Adopting a BABY is. Everyone always wants a baby, there aren't enough to go around. If you are ok with a child, you could try foster parenting and maybe adopting that child if you think it's a good fit. They actually pay you to foster a child.

If you do the foster to adopt way it is not that costly. My brother and Sister-in-law went to classes and had kids in and out of their home. but they got one baby that was 13 days old fostered her for 2 years and now she can't go any where. but the whole time they would just put their change in a large piggy bank (along with all their friends) and when it came time to pay the money they took out the piggy bank and used all of that money. Just for reference it only cost the about $700.00

First time we must have a desire in us .. a desire that it's hiding in the deep place of heart. Second we must be able to love unconditionally. Third we must have some money .. at least to not make pain to the child. Fourth we must search all the info information that can be found. Fifth we must make a move .. and never stop from nothing to make the dream true. Good luck !

You might need to move to a new city cuz I never knew it cost to adopt a needy child. In Ohio they pay you for adopting a child every month. They also give you anything a child may need like bed and clothing. They will even buy you a car if needed. They even do more for ppl when your a foster parent

Adoption costs so much because there is so much involved in it. In international adoption, there's the agency which must charge in order to keep the doors open for the next adoptive couple, social workers have to go through an immense amount of education & training & deserve to be compensated for their expertise, there's the translations of all the documents, there's getting copies of birth and marriage certificates, etc, getting them all notarized & authenticated, there's the fingerprint processing & background checks, there's the immigration fees, your passports to buy, visas to process, airfare, money for the stay there, money for the in-country personnel, court costs, translators, the children's visas and passports, their medical exams, the homestudy, the post placement visits & reports, etc. That all adds up to a pretty penny. With domestic adoption, there's lawyer fees, court costs, medical expenses of the mother (if it's an infant adoption), homestudy, postplacements, etc. That all adds up, too. With a foster child adoption, the fees are very little and most states reimburse them. Keep in mind that with any adoption, there is a federal tax credit available (http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc607.html for more info), some states also have tax credits. Some employers have adoption assistance benefits. There are adoption grants and loans you can apply for. There are fund raising ideas out there that you can do to help defray the expenses. There are lots of kids who need homes. I wish that it didn't cost so much to adopt, but it does, unfortunately. If you really want to do it, don't let expenses keep you from it. Adopt from foster care or find a way to get the money if you really have your heart set on a different type of adoption.
