How much hp would this add to my car?

Does a camshaft add HP to a car? if so how much?

  • Answer:

i have read all you stuff and question, things is that you never say anything about what kind car you have and what year. if you can do that it will help out a lot more, however on what the info i got, you probably only get some where between 50 to 100hp if you do it right. however, if you give me some info on what kind car are you going to work on it will be more easier.

Hotter cams usually add high end power at the expense of low end torque. They do this by increasing the overlap between the intake and exhaust valves, which has a negative impact on performance at low revs but increase efficiency and power at the top end. Extremely aggressive cams will cause idling problems. The amount of power depends on the cams and the car... you might want to ask around to find out.
