Do you snowboard or ski? what's better?
-
i snowboard but i think i am better at skiing.

Answer:
i do both. i like skiing when i just want to cruise down the mountain and relax. i snowboard when i feel like doing tricks. i still do tricks on skis and grinding, but tricks are easier on a board. so if i want to take it easy, i ski. if i want to go crazy and all out i go boarding. they are both really fun though!

In the snow as long as you having fun, it really doesn't matter which one you pick. I am a snowboarder and have been doing it for about 12 years. I skiied for 11 years before i touched a snowboard. Skiing is very fast and technical. You have two skinny sleds attached to your feet, less area of friction so you're speed is quicker. Then you have twice as many edges so your turns are sharper and more accurate, plus stopping is faster and safer. Snowboarding on the other had is very fluid and casual. The balance factor is the hardest part to control, once you get the feel for it the turning and jumping will come with practice. while learning to "ride, shred, play or board" when you fall make a fist, it'll help keep your wrist tight... in the morning you'll appreciate the fact. In my opinion, snowboarding is more fun and skiing is all about technique. I have also heard that snow boarding is actually better for you because it works more of the body than skiing.

Neither is really "better" - they're different. People are different and that is why some of us prefer one over the other. If you're better at skiing and you have more fun skiing, then skiing is better for you. Personally - I never felt 100% comfortable skiing. I wasn't very good at it, never got used to having giant things attached to each foot and dealing with them potentially crossing, etc. Snowboarding came much more naturally to me; it just felt right. For a beginner out there who might be reading this, I'd encourage them to try them both out. It is worth noting that I think snowboarding is harder to learn initially (LOTS of falling, even as a somewhat experienced rider you fall), but then later easier to get good once you learn it. On the other hand, I think skiing is easier to pick up the basics (you don't fall nearly as much), but harder to master in the long run.

ski. skis go faster. they are easier to go on moguls and they are so much more fun to do.

I ski. I tried snowboarding, but I don't have the balance to do it well, and it felt awkward having my feet locked into place on the board. With skis, I can move them to adjust for my loss of balance. Besides, I've separated both of my shoulders over the years, and a good fall might re-injure them. I have less of a chance of doing that with skis. It's not a zero chance, 'cause that's how I separated one of them - a nasty fall while skiing! Come on, winter!!!
