    well pretty much what everyone else said but i HIGHLY suggest volleyball knee pads too. if you get them you will thank me later. even if your a guy just wear them under your pants and no one will ever know and your knees wont hurt NEAR as bad. i totally regret not using them the first time i went it hurt so bad to walk but i learned my lesson the hard way and was amazed how much they helped the second time so GET THEM!!!! ohhh and have fun!!!

Take a lesson first of all. My friend broke his wrist the first time.Don't be scared though he was being an idiot. Wear maybe some wristguards and a pad on your butt because thats what you will be landing on. Drink a lot of water because for some reason I always get so thirsty when I snowboard. I would take a friend to help you if you have any that have been snowboarding before. Stay confident and ummm wear a helmet.

I would recomend taking lessons, it might be a little pricey, but they are going to teach you the most and it will be the most enjoyable. Dont let it get you down if you dont learn it perfectly your first time, it will take a few trips.

I hate to break it to you, but most likely you will fall A LOT and you will be sore. It not like you will come to the slopes and in 2 hours you'll be doing 360s. It will take a while for you to learn. Don't get frustrated though, everyone's been through it, even Shaun White. Just make sure to get the balance and stopping down first.
