The K2 Darkstar is an all mountain freestyle board so is great in the park but also good over the rest of the mountain. Its an intermediate level board and only you can really determine what your level is?. Its seem you have been riding a while but dont go riding that often so i would imagine that board would be a good choice for you. Its a good board i owned one myself a few years back, Good luck with the riding.

The darkstar is a great board. I have had two K2 boards(A-star and Instinct) The a-star was the greatest ride with solid feel and it was super flexible. The darkstar replaced the a-star(or so i've been told.) Right now is a great time to buy, the end of season sales are making it possible to buy better gear. I just bought a new board for under $300 and its usually 550 or more. Either google the exact board and size or go to K2s website and find sponsored dealers. Thats what I did!

K2 is a great company. then again so is burton. if I were you I'd get a freestyle board that will allow you the flex to perform tricks and jibb around the park, but still be able to freeride. other good companies are forum, rome, ride, nitro, Lib tech and flow.
