How do i know what snowboard length i should get?

There is no set rule about what length a snowboard should be. I'm 5'11" and have ridden everything from a 145 to a 178 depending on snow conditions and what I plan on doing for the day... The general rule is it should come up at least to your chin and should be taller than your eyebrows. That's just to make sure a beginner doesn't get a board that's too long to handle or too short to keep them stable. My wife is about your size and she rides a 146.
