What Burton Snowboard Should I Get?

  • I don't want to spend over $400 and I dont want a "wide" board. I know about the clash but i want something that looks cooler and is a good board.

    all the burton haters here... 1) one poster commented on burton overhead and advertising. What advertising? I've never seen Burton advertise anywhere. Burton sells the most snowboards out there..their overhead per board is less than other brands because they make so many boards. 2) Burton and snowboarding is very similar to nike and shoes. Nike are expensive (compared to new balance and other lame brands) but they are indeed better. Burton is the same. People generally cant afford burton boards and then bash them claiming "other" boards are better for their riding. Or since Burton is one of the more common boards, they begin to bash it because they want to stand out and get something that other people dont have. 3) You can get countless of burton boards for under 400 (just go for 08-09 season). Go to your local snowboarding/ski shop and they should have a wide selection of burton boards for you. No reason to get a brand new 09-10 board vs an unused 08-09.

id go for a lib tech skate banana. i have it and love it. the magna traction is great even wen its icy..its great for terrain parks or just normal shredding i cant stand burtons

Like all the other posts here, I am going to recommend staying away from Burton, The quality of their $400 board won't be the same as another company. They have to pay for all that overhead and advertising somehow, right? I would look at anything made in the US or Austria. You can't go wrong either way. A few I would look into are Never Summer, Head, Elan, Arbor, Artec...

Post up your weight and shoe size so we can all get you some specific suggestions. Burton still makes some great snowboards. The Mayhem and the Condom are two that you can get for under $400.00. The real key is that you get a board that is well suited to your riding style, your local conditions and most importantly, your weight and shoe size. This is far more important than brand these days.

well, you didnt say if you are using it for the park or mountain, so there really is a lot to choose from. If you want this seasons, you can choose between clash, bullet or mayhem. Those are the only boards that Burton has under $400 so you dont have that many to choose from. And, those are all mountain boards, so they are good for both the trails and some park stuff.

Those guys are right. And you should consider a Capita, probably the best board you can get for under $400. Model depending on your size and type of riding. Stairmaster, Indoor Survival, Horrorscrope... those are some sick boards.
