What Snowboard is better for me?

What is better ?? a Sims snowboard or a K2?

  • I have a chance to buy a used snowboard both of them are the same price, and the right size for me. I am a total beginner, never been on a snowboard before. Whant is the better ...show more

    of the two...go with the Sims...the K2 is made by a ski company...remember..these are the guys ( ski companies ) that wanted to ban snowboards from the mountians back in the day. Why line their wallets..let em sell skis....they "make" boards to make money..not PROMOTE the sport. ever see a K2 banner at a pro event?...exactly....i think you "knowhatimean".. and Sims has the board design, and the research and development behind their products. I personally know Mr. Tom Sims...hes a helluva good man and has put this sport on the map. He also molded Shaun Palmer to the level he is today.

K2. Just do it. Better quality, and usually better price.

I just got a K2 Mix, havn't been able to use it yet since Ohio has decided to stay above 35 degrees and rain constantly so far this winter, but I was told by an experienced friends that it is amazing and in general K2 is a very good company. Not too sure about Sims boards. The Mix has a very snappy feel to it where something like the Rossignol Amber is supposed to be very similar but have a little more rock solid feel to it. Of course these are the womens board version, not as sure about the guy boards.

I had a K2 board for 2 years and it never had any problems, so i think it would be a good board to go with, but I have never had a sims board so i cant really say much about it.

The brand of snowboard is not nearly as important as the specific model and the type of riding the board is designed for. See if you can find out what model of board they are and then go to www.snowboardreviews.com and check out the comments that other riders have left.

Sims and K2 both have excellent boards and if you say that their used i say get both of them because its really all about what you prefer. personally I like Sims. I have a 159 and its totally awesome just a little to big for me so i got another snowboard. so if your interested?
