Progress in figure skating after 7 months?

  • Answer:

First of all, stop teaching yourself NOW. The very fact that you called it 'that Ice Princess thing' is a warning sign. Also, what is a 'sudden toe pick stop' and 'snow pile stop'? The fact that you don't even know proper terminology is also very bad. Teaching yourself is like setting yourself up for failure. Bad habits are easily ingrained and hard to get rid of. If you stop teaching yourself and get a coach, you could definitely eventually do small competitions. Maybe not for 2-3 years, but if you worked hard, practiced outside of lesson time, and persevered, then it's realistic.

the thing on ice princess is called "lunge" :) it depends on you on how far you would go,it takes mental strength, physical strength, passion and a lot of dedication :) you can compete once you get to a certain level :) good luck! i have a friend thats on freestyle 1 (ISI level) and she competes at competitions on her category :)

I think crouch thing your talking about is a lung, and the arabesque is a spiral. And yes that is pretty could progress for one month. You should try some crossovers, and get lessons. Plenty of people start as teenagers, and go on to compete.
