What figure skating competitions do you know?

In figure skating exhibitions (galas that after competitions), do skaters have to have skating elements?

  • Do they have to perform triple flips, axels, spins, etc... in their exhibition? Basically, must they include elements of figure skating in that since it isn't judged?

  • Answer:

No technical requirement, no judges, no anxiety. They can include Uncaptioned moves, i.e. Spread Eagles. Sky's the limit (of course as long as it's something they haven't done/practiced before that could cause an injury).

No, they can do whatever they like. That's why you get fun wonderful exhibitions like Plushenko's Sex Bomb and Assisai ones. The exhibition is a chance to show a bit of personality and fun, which IJS tries so hard to stamp out.
