How do I ice skate?

Do people who know how to ice skate have trouble walking around during ice storms?

    I Ice skate, Im terrifeidd of walking down the street to school when its icy. Since your in shoes and not skates. Although we are used to falling, but its more embarressing when going down a street, rather than doing jumps on ice!!!!! Ha! for the answer for me a least its a problem

its a little less scary i guess but its still the same. we dont have skates on, so we slip too! but skaters have an easier balance and are used to falling (yes, even good skaters fall 2,000 times a day) so the task may not be as scary for us.

I am a figure skater of 5.5 yrs and I find that it is no easier for me to walk on ice than any other person. I actually think I am one of the most clumsy people when it comes to walking on ice. Besides, your weight is distributed differently when you wear ice skates and the sharpness of the blades help "grab" the ice.

Actually, I think I have an easier time walking on ice because I know how to balance myself from skating. But I am very careful too.
