What type of skis should I buy for high school ski team Slalom and Giant Slalom?

  Check with the ski coach first, he may know skiers selling used racing skis that are in good shape. You should also ask if there are any restrictions on the length and side cut of the skis, depending on the racing you are doing. I haven't heard that slalom skis are used for GS and GS are used for slalom. Generally slalom skis are a lot shorter than GS, but maybe you can use a recreational all mountain ski that will fit the specs. Race skis are going to be more expensive than recreational skis.
