Is snowboard wax the same as ski wax?

Spray on ski/snowboard wax?

  • Anyone familiar w/ this stuff? (It's the All Temperature Hydro spray wax made by dakine). I was just curious if it performs nearly as well as the iron on or if it's junk? ...show more

  • Answer:

I have tried several spray on waxes over the years and I still prefer to hot wax my own boards and tune them as I want. The spray seems to last 3-5 runs and then it's gone. I wouldn't say it's junk, just that I like mine to slide well all day and I hot wax my equipment every 3-4 days of use, more often in abrasive conditions.

well it depends if you want your wax to last get hot wax but if your just willing to tune it up for one trip to the ski hill its ok

It's ok, for what it is. It really isn't for tuning up your board or ski before going out. It's more just for something to spray on while you're out there on the slopes. It's not really something necessary unless you are a pro, in my opinion at least.
