How to determine ski size?

  • I am trying to buy my brother a new set of skiis for Christmas. I'm not sure what size to purchase. He is 6ft and weighs 175. He is an intermediate to advanced skier. Thanks

    Talk to a ski technician at a ski shop. Tell him/her your bro's height, weight, and what type of skier he is (type 1, 2, or 3). type 1 is beginner, and type 3 is advanced. Based on what you said, he would probably be some where between a type 2 & a type 3 skier.

if i were you, i would just tell him that you want to buy him skis for christmas, and that he should come w u to a ski shop, and they can tell you the best type of ski for him, if not, ask for a hybrid ski, which can go all mountain.

im 6 foot and i ski on 179's and 180's that being said i go every weekend and ski really advanced terrain any thing from 175cm - 180cm would probably be fine... but ask him it has a lot to do with personal preference and the shape and style have a lot to do with it too if he even remotely like skiing he'll know exactly what ski he would like
