DO Skateboard Rails Slide the same way as a ski rail would?

In every Ski movie you see they are skiing the same rails you would skateboard on in the summer time. you can watch a skate video and recognize the same rail in a ski video. they are the same.

Well you will definatley not kill yourself haha. It all depends on the surface of the rail. Almost all metal rails can be used skateboarding but some types of metal will scratch your skis. I think you should try it out a few times in the winter and see what happens. If it wrecks your skis, stop doing it and if not then problem solved! Good Luck!
