Do most people subscribe to the tin foil method when encountering unexplained phenomena or activity?

That's pretty funny considering the 'tin foil' refers to the most hardcore science-denialists. You can certainly be given credit for describing UFOs - that's what fiction is for. But your description means nothing if no UFO has ever been shown to be an alien. First prove it's aliens, then we'll listen to descriptions - but not until. Until someone has proved aliens are visiting, it's just another unsubstantiated story. On a related note, did you ever notice you don't get UFO reports from astronomers? Since we spend all our time looking up and taking detailed pictures and observations (that are repeatable) wouldn't we see more than anyone? Here's the difference - since we spend all our time looking up, we KNOW what we're looking at. It's not unidentified any more. UFO reports come from people who never bother looking up and then get confused when they do. Half the UFO reports are usually Venus.

Tin foil is hard if not impossible to find. Aluminum foil is common and lead foil can be found if you look hard enough. So no, most people do not.

Mass hypnotism is not hard to swallow and has been demonstrated again and again as capable of making people think they see aliens, and forget they are hypnotized.

i think its complicated an layered. you have the child like reaction of pulling the covers over your head until the scary thing is gone. then there is the scooby doo explanation. that is someone doing something bad that meddling kids expose. its important to note that in the cartoon that the gang is ridiculed until they expose the plotters. you have those who seek to muddy the water. these are those people that dont want people thinking about this subject. your government types. you have your nuts. these are the people who see ufos but are totally unbalanced. finally you have the real cases. my belief. it should be obvious to any rational person that we have ufos an some are piloted by aliens that are either here or doing it remotely. hey we can maneuver bombs at a distance isnt rational to imagine that they could do the same with an exploratory craft. i think it is easy but also sloppy to say it isnt true because you cant prove it. the existence of bacteria were theorized years before we had the technology to prove it. they didnt suddenly appear with the inventon of the microscope. no ., rather they were always here we just couldnt see them. further i would say that we are fortunate we havent had many live meetings. we as a people arent ready yet. plus i think the whole blight of diseases that the spanish brougnt to south america would seem like a drop in the bucket to what an alien species could bring
