What causes deja vu? I've been told that it's because the event already took place in another plane?

In the case of when it is caused by a similar event elsewhere, it is simply a mistake that the brain makes. The brain can sometimes mistake similar events for events that actually have happened and it becomes flooded with those memories, causing you to think that it has already happened before. It's a minor brain organization error, and it can happen to anyone. It's not anything serious.
