Is my GPA considered good?

Is a 3.5 considered a good GPA?

  • I'm in my sophomore year and my GPA is a 3.5, is it a good GPA? Would colleges want something higher?

  • Answer:

colleges will look more at your cumulative GPA (freshmen, sophomore, and junior years combined) than individual GPA's. 3.5 is a really good GPA though, maybe not Ivy League, or maybe it is, but still good enough for a state college. If you keep a consistent 3.5 then you're doing really well.

3.5 is a good GPA, thats a high B. 4.0 + is A or higher. 3.0+ is B or higher 2.0+ is C or higher 1.0 + is just plain bad.

F.I.N.E fine :)

it's a good gpa if you were not expecting more than a b .it's a bad gpa if you were expecting an a.that depends and for college they look at your SAT score and your grades from high school.Your record counts too.If you have 3 non-permanent expulsions 7 detentions and so on I don't think your going to get very far.

what is your GPA out of? Some schools have it out of 4 and some have it out of 4.2 and some (depending on if you have honors classes) have it out of 5 or less.

A 3.5 is an okay GPA. Try to aim for a 4.0 or higher during your junior and senior years. AP classes might be helpful.
