Does anyone know of any Cheap but effective ways of Advertising my website?

How can I let people know about my website without paying lots for advertising?

    Nowadays, advertising does not cost much if it is via the internet. Naturally, if you want to post your new website, you have got to look for classifieds and if you need free ones, go for free advertising sites. Some charge you from USD10 to USD100 depending on types of ads you wish to place. There are many free classified sites that ask for a reciprocal link as a condition to post your website for free. They do not charge you but ask this (reciprocal link) as a small condition in return. There are also online classifieds that do not ask for such condition as well as do not charge you any fees. They rely on sponsor's ads and of course hope that free users would upgrade to paid ads once you have confidence in them. In short, you don't really need to pay lots of money for advertising.

First of all decide who you're targeting. As much as you might not like to hear this, I find the information on the website confusing. A world compendium? Local events? I think it's a good idea to straighten out the website before you start pulling people in. Hope this helps, even if it's not what you wanted.
