Why do people find dark skin so ugly?

I don't think dark skin is ugly (I'm white, by the way.). Most African women who become famous seem to have lighter skin though so there is definitely some bias against darker tones, sadly. :( A few years ago, there was a magazine spread celebrating female models of African origin. It showed about 20 women. I noticed only one of them had dark skin, the others had the lighter brown skin that you see more often on the TV and in magazines (but less often in real life). The darkest model was the most beautiful, by far.

I think it is horrible when people say things like that. Im mixed and people always say things about how im not really black, and it really does hurt. Everyones skin is beautiful no matter the pigment.

I don't find dark skin ugly, I think all colours are beautiful.

I think it may be because all the models in magazines and movies and usually lighter skinned. I'm just guessing here... hope it helps

I find it to be extremely sexy and elegant. Many light-skinned people know this, and spend a lot of time sunbathing.

very dark skinned models are very in right now there rare so go to a angency and be a model a bueatiful dark skinned model and be proud of it
