Where can I get step by step instructions on how to create a site map for my website in XML / Google friendly?

I need a step by step guide on how to create a site map for my website that is googlebot friendly, and it has to be in XML format... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ...show more

Step 1 Go to http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ type in your url, this free tools will auto generate for you. Step 2 unload to your root directory, www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml Step 3 go to www.google.com/webmasters click on "Improve traffic with Google Webmaster Tools" Step 4 log in with your gmail acc .. follow the last few steps ( verify your acc). Step 5 All Done! Cheers

All you have to do is type in your URL address and they create the site map for you: Google, Yahoo You will see the generated sitemap details page, including number of pages, broken links list, XML file content and link to a compressed sitemap. Download the sitemap file using this link and put it into the "public_html/" folder of your site.
