Best way to start marketing blog is through blog directory like blog catalog. Secondly you can market through digg.com and other social sites. Also try to setup your blog on wordpress.org that will give more ease in marketing your blog

you could write articles and submit them to directories i know a program called onlywire that social bookmarks automaticly every time you make a post
