  First, ignore Harijit. You can get good traffic without spending much money. I don't spend money on anything other than hosting, and I get plenty of traffic each month (maybe 500,000 visitors across my sites). ocjo makes a great point -- if you don't love the topic, it will show and you will fail. imisidro has good points, but misses the main one -- traffic. Tweaking your ads is a dumb way to spend your time until you have good traffic. $900/month is a pretty low figure, but it'll take some time. To make $100/month, without spending money, it'll take probably 3-6 months. With my clients (bloggers, mostly), my goal is to get them to $500/month (per blog) after a year. The first six months tend to be very low, and then it starts ramping up. Whatever you do, offer great unique content, update OFTEN and things will build up nicely for you.
