How do Scholarships work?

How does Scholarships.com, or any other method of finding scholarships through google, the Internet, work exactly?

  • I'm sure that it's more than meets the eye. There's definitley advertising, spamming, a whole lot of things involved bc of the middle-manning that occurs between all of this. Can someone help me clarify, or inform me on how this works? I don't know if it's a good idea to sign up before knowing what I'm doing

  • Answer:

Hey! Basically these services are free for all students and parents searching for scholarships or money for school. When you sign up you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire on where you want to study, where you live, what your interest are etc. From there the website will provide you with a list of scholarships that you are eligible to apply for. Its quite simple really. These sites have no negatives to signing up and will even email you when scholarships relevant to you become available. You can of course opt out of these emails if you wish to! Hope you find this helpful. http://www.yconic.comis always a great place to start in the Canad and the USA
