There are online courses you can take to prepare for your GED http://www.gedforfree.com/ & you can go to a library near you for GED classes some are free some cost, I never took it but from what I hear it's not hard at all. Good luck !

You don't have to take classes. You can buy the GED book from Amazon.com. In my area and in my home state you can go to a hour long introduction, basically informing you what will be happening on test day and paying fees. Then you can come in and take the tests.
