On my first practice essay, I wrote an essay very smilar to this on a diagnostic, and received only a grade of 4/12. What you need to focus on is getting SPECIFIC examples, rather than generalizations, as they will reinforce your points more effectively in the eyes of SAT graders. Remember that SAT focuses more on the structuring of the essay than what you are actually writing.
