GRE is changing. Should I take the old one or try the new one?

Carlos is correct. You can take the GRE multiple times and use your best score. It's almost standard to take it twice, using the first one as prep. Most people do better the second time around because although the questions are different, the format is the same. Optimally, you should take both versions twice.
