What are the pros and cons of home schooling?

  We just started this journey. The middle child is in Kinder. We bought a curriculum, but I have experience teaching birth to age 6 programs. I found what I bought to be seriously lacking. I found workbooks at Target for $1 that taught more! (Crayola company). We still follow the basic curriculum as a guide, but we do much on our own. I found a complete K-5th grade art lessons online, including power point slides all for free. I found other lessons throughout the internet for free. As for 'other expenses' I am not sure. With no school calendar to worry, and a husband that can work his own schedule at his job, we have much freedom. We bought yearly zoo and museum passes. We go to many of these programs through the year not only for fun but for school study too. Many materials for science are just good to even have at home if you are not home schooling, kids just do not need to sit all day and play with just toys or TV/video games. Cost of schooling depends on what materials you pick.
