  No method of schooling (public, private, homeschool) is best for every student or every situation. Every family's needs are different. PROS: Parents can customize a curriculum to meet their kids interests, needs, and learning style as well as their budget and values. If something isn't working, you are free to switch anytime. You can spend as little or as much time as needed on something instead of going at the speed of a class. If you want to travel, you don't have to pull the kids out of school. You can study when and where you want instead of just during traditional school hours in a class. Wiggle time can be whenever needed, instead of when a teacher decides the class needs it. Parents are in charge of discipline. Homeschool students generally spend less time to learn the same things compared to public schools because of all their wasted time (changing classes, waiting on teacher or other students, passing out papers, etc) CONS: Families must buy their own curriculum as well as pay local school taxes. Having to deal with ignorant or just uninformed people who buy-in to stereotypes about homeschooling, especially those who believe homeschool students are isolated socially by no going to a school. Kids miss school functions of students nearby.
