If it's one of the K12 virtual schools, and I believe that it is, then no, you don't have to pay any kind of tuition or anything like that. In fact, they will reimburse you a set amount for your internet connection. You will need to provide ink and paper for the printer they will supply you with.

FVS (florida virtual school) is FREE, but you have to understand that by using it you are still BOUND by Public School laws, hours and attendance. TRUE Homeschool is where the Parent(s) is in charge and decides on curriculum, study course, field trips, hours, etc. Virtual School is where you are in one place, school is in another and you both meet over the Internet. It does not cover all grade levels, you are bound by attendance rules (you'd better be dying to not attend class), still have to turn schoolwork in by a set time, can't tailor the class or classwork to the child's needs or style. As I said it is not TRUE homeschooling and you can not say you homeschool. You don't pay for FVS, and it is up to them if they will pay your Internet connection ( most times not).....again if your child is in grade K-5 you are out of luck as FVS doesn't start until grade 6.
