The only time I travelled in France was on the TGV from Folkstone to Calais & Return. I was touring Great Britain by rail and just on a lark I wanted to go thru the Chunnel (Tunnel) but I didn't want to go far so I only went to Calais. The Train was smooth riding and twice as fast as the Acela out of Washington. I spoke with the Train Crew and their pay scale is much lower than North America. I was thinking of going back this year and travel through France and Germany on their high speed trains.
