What is the reasoning for riding the Trans-siberian railroad?

What does a sign BILL mean along a railroad track??

  • We were riding along an active railroad line and saw a blue and white vertical sign saying "BILL". Does anyone know what that means??

  • Answer:

I've never heard of that, but it may have been a local application. On the railroads, blue and white signs mean "Men At Work", and have those words on them. At night, a blue light means men at work. You've got me curious now. I hope someone knows.

I'v seen signs that say "BELL"...these are to remind you to "Make some noise", (Bell and Whistle), as dispatch says... for trackside workers...but IDK about BILL
