Is Pontiac going to make a new Firebird, or Trans am?

Does anyone know if pontiac is going to make a new firebird?

  • I would think so since chevy made the new camaro.

  • Answer:

I wouldn't bet on any new products from Pontiac in the near future. GM is phasing it out as a mainstream brand. Pontiac will only make a few specialty cars here and there. Too many years of minivans and craptastic GM sedans killed the brand.

One source for the start of this rumor is a company did take a new Camaro and modified it to look like a Trans Am. It was recently displayed here at the Firebird Nationals in Dayton Ohio. It is a one of a kind non production dream car. It will never be made for sale to the public, specially now that Pontiac is gone.

Pontiac is not going to be making anything...GM has decided to terminate the brand all together. No more Pontiac.

News must not get to your part of the world...Pontiac is dead. Next year they're done. Also, there was never, EVER any plans for the return of the Firebird. All of the rumors floating on the internet were just that, rumors. The Firebird was dead in '02 with SLIGHT chance of a Camaro return, after GM saw the response from the Camaro concept they did the right thing and brought that back. Alan, what does the Corolla have to do with the Firebird discussion, lay off the drugs man, lol.
