    Spain, and especially Barcelona, is not a cheap place to live. The cost of living is about the same as Greater London. (Council tax is a lot lower though because Only the UK would allow half the population to work for the government.) The streets are awash with TEFL graduates to the extent that one of our local language academies insists on a proper degreed teaching qualification, plus TEFL. Get a job lined up before you come.

Okay, first, why would you live in Barcelona, if you're going to be working in Valencia? I think a full day is a pretty excessive commute to work! (Have you ever looked on a map of Spain? Do you KNOW how far apart the two cities are?) Do you have any idea how difficult it is for foreigners to get work in a country where the unemployment is 20%? Do you HAVE a job? Are you prepared to live off your savings for a couple of months? *edit* Actually, you WOULD be taking a job away from someone who is looking for work. One doesn't NEED to be an English native in order to teach English. And, yes, I know what TEFL means...I'm pretty sure I've known what it was since before you were born, thankyouverymuch. AND, while I knew that was what you were talking about, just in case you were dealing with some ignorant, you can't refer back to having spoken about "TEFL", if you haven't already done so. Sorry...I'm just completely sick of how many British people seem to think they can just pull up stakes, with no savings at all, and move to Spain, take over, force everyone around them to communicate in English to make life easy for them, and take jobs away from citizens, simply because they prefer the weather there.
